QUT has 6,800 international students from more than 90 countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Norway, Sweden, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Germany, France, Italy and the USA.

An international student is any student who is not a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or who has not been granted permanent residency in Australia at the commencement of their course. A student on an Australian Student Visa must undertake a full-time study load unless they are on a temporary visa allowing part-time study.

University Entrance Pathway Programs

The QUT International College provides a range of pathway programs to assist international students in meeting language and/or academic requirements for entry into QUT programs.

Superior learning and teaching facilities and individualised support services contribute to high rates of progression of QUTIC graduates to their preferred university programs. Dedicated teaching and administrative staff are highly qualified in teaching and assisting International students.

Claire is the primary point of contact for guidance officers and international student co-ordinators wanting information on QUT’s study options for their International students.

Claire can be contacted to conduct information sessions at your school, TAFE or language school; organise tours of the QUT campuses, or distribute course information material specifically for international students.

Another side of Claire’s role is to provide excellent customer service to international applicants (or their representative) with regard to course information and entry requirements, application process, and alternative entry pathway options.
